Apple Blueberry Green Smoothie

This is one of my favorite smoothies.  It is just so delicious and refreshing.  It helps tremendously that it is really good for you.  It has lots of antioxidants, vitamins and great fiber, so it keeps you feeling full all morning.  My favorite thing is that is absolutely delicious.


1/2 cup spinach

1 apple chopped (I don’t peel apples when making my smoothies because I use a Nutri Ninja and I find it unnecessary, but if you are using a regular blender you might need to)

1/2 cup of blueberries (you can use either frozen or fresh here)

1/2 cup plain lowfat yogurt

1 teaspoon of ground flax seed

1 cup of water


Blend well and enjoy!  If you want your smoothie thicker add ice.  If you want it thinner, add water.

On a side note, I do not add store bought juice to my smoothies as a rule.  The reason for this is because it adds unnecessary calories and sugar.  If a smoothie needs a little sweetening, I typically put a little bit of honey in it.
